The Ben Buckle Standard Buccaneer
The Buccaneer Standard is another of our early kits and the model itself was one of Ben's favourites.
Ben had a free flight Buccaneer Std way back in the early 1970's and I can remember myself and the two Ayres brothers, Micheal and Steve chasing off after it at the Nats. at Little Rissington. The same model was later converted to single channel radio by Ben and was one of his first goes at R/C flying.
The model shown in the picture is Mike Whittard's Buccaneer which has been flying for many years and has had several different IC engines but has now been converted to electric power.
The Buccaneer Standard is a Bill Effinger design from 1937 and has stood the test of time very well.
