If we had said 10 years ago that we’d have a radio control helicopter that could fly around the living room for under £30.00 quid, we’d have been carried off by the men in white coats.
This break though in infrared control technology means you can fly one of the lightest and durable model helicopters today and everyday for not a lot of money!
The Picoo Z uses wide infrared technology to enable us to control the throttle and the left and right movements of the model. The model can be trimmed by the electronic trims – let and right – so that its quite stable ‘hands off’. By using a slight bit of nose weight – we can cause the model to travel forward and obtain circuits around the living room.
while this is probably the most simple form of model Heli Flying ever and it’s great fun and great value, the Picoo Z doesn’t have the precise control of models like the Twister Bell or Twister Medevac.
The Picoo Z is so stable, that once the more sluggish control of the infrared technology is mastered – successful flight after successful flight is possible in the living room.
Our test and demo model has bounced off doors and walls and the model is very sturdy! The secret being that the fuselage is made of EPP foam and that’s virtuallyindestructible in normal use. Of course flying into walls should be avoided as crash damage is not covered by warranty, but we can assure you that this little heli is tougher than it looks.
Triband technology.
The model is available on ‘A’,’B’ or ‘C’ frequencies and three models can be flown at the same time providing you have the three different frequencies.The models are also available in different colours. There’s Red, Blue and Yellow! When ordering you can state a colour in the special instructions box on the order form. If you don’t we’ll pick one for you. If you by more than one heli, we will automatically send them on different frequencies and different colours.
Lastly – below are some real shots – taken in a living room – the model is perfectly at home avoiding the walls, train tracks, toys and of course the Cats or Catzilla’s as we prefer to call them. See photos below! Yes the cat caught the heli a number of times and its still flying!
