The video below shows one of the Profile Tiger Moths converted to RC - please note this listing is for the kit only and further items need to be purchased to convert to Radio Control, this info is presented here to show what simple models like this are capable off other than the usual Free Flight applications

The video above features a West Wings Tiger Profile model converted to Radio Control by Alpha Bob. The flying was indoors at the St Helens indoor meet

Alpha Bob has used the RC Block from his Vapor and a motor from a Defunct 4 Site to make use of these parts in a model that makes for an interesting indoor or back year flyer. There's no doubt that more of the West Wings range of kits are suitable for Rc conversion. The Park Zone radios and E Flite radio units can be obtained seperately under the brand name of Spektrum and also the Kyosho Minium RC gear can be used in a similar way.

West-Wings Pinto

As electric flight has gained in popularity over the years the demand for exciting models has grown too. The Pinto fills that gap nicely with a design that is both attractive and functional. With a passing resemblance to the famous P51 Mustang fighter of WWII, the Pinto is bound to appeal to a wide variety of tastes.

Specifications

Wing Span : Span (Inches): 36 Ins / 915 mm .

Radio Required : 3 Channels, 2 servo's and ESC. A 7 or 8 cell nicad is recommended.

Power is provided by a basic 400 motor, or for those that really want performance,a hot 480 or even a Cobalt. With seven cells and a standard 400, performance is sufficient to learn the flight characteristics without excessive speed. A 480 and eight cells really starts to ‘push the envelope’ and experienced pilots can explore the Pinto’s true aerobatic potential. The motor and drive system is not supplied in the kit but for a economically priced motor with a high performance try the World Models 400 Series Motor available on this site. Because of the higher speed of this design, drive is direct rather than through a gearbox, and this in turn helps to save money by keeping it simple.

This is not a model for the novice as it’s speed and sensitivity demand the finesse of more experienced hands. If you’re familiar with low wing aerobatic sports models, the Pinto should hold no worries and will reward you with stunning aerobatic potential.

The model is designed for micro radio gear and most micro servos will suit the model.
